Wear to Work: Shirts and Blouses

When it comes to a conservative or semi-conservative work environment, it is necessary to remember that we do not need a dull wardrobe to dress appropriately.  In this series, I will make a list of what every woman should have in her wardrobe and the various options available to them. We begin with shells.

It is important to have a nice assortment of shells to go with skirt or pant suits. While my wardrobe has a relatively large number of black and white blouses, I do have a few bold colors and pleasant prints.  You've probably heard that when you interview you should wear pinks and other soft feminine colors because interviewers respond well to that.  This of course has to do with color psychology, an area I'm not qualified enough to delve into.

When it comes to selecting shirts and blouses you generally want to go for a high neck.  Unless you have a small bust, a low cut may be too sexy or even vulgar in the work environment.

Summer Wardrobe

My Summer Must Haves:

I've been obsessing over having the proper summer essentials.  I live in California and the weather here can get very hot.  Not to mention, I'll be going abroad to an even hotter country later in the summer.  So, my summer activities will include visiting our beautiful California beaches and frequenting cafes.  I'm also a night owl and love being out and about on warm California nights.
